Guitars Not Guns Ages: 12-18
The Guitars Not Guns program prevents violence in schools and on the streets by providing free
guitars and lessons to engage youth and divert them from negative influences such as drugs, alcohol and gang-related activities. These lessons are taught by local musicians who are volunteers. This program is always looking for new volunteer instructors and donated guitars for student to use. Classes are offered year-round. If you have a guitar you would like to donate or if you are interested in volunteering, contact the G.H.W.R. Youth Center at 768-3247

The “Jam Spot Ages: 6-22*
Are you tired of your parents and neighbors complaining about the noise when your band practices in your garage or room? Do you need a place where you can practice your dance moves and routines? The G.H.W.R. Youth Center has the perfect solution; our new rehearsal room. Affordable rental rates make this space perfect for young musicians, dancers, and performance artists to hone their craft. Rental of the 600 sq. ft. space includes a micophone and PA sound system that is compatible with a CD or MP3 player. Rules and fees apply. Contact Geno at 768-3294 for
more information. The space is open during drop-in program hours on Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Reservation forms may be picked up at the PCS Customer Service Office at 231 Union St. *Group members over 22 are allowed if the majority of the group is 22 or younger.
