How much will I be involved in my child's therapy?

When parents are involved in their child's therapy it increases the positive outcome for the child.  Parents may be asked to have a parent coaching session.  Parents will be given information in regard to development, communication and positive parenting practices. Handouts will be given frequently to parents to help them understand these concepts or provide information that will benefit their family.  Parents will be asked to fill out an ABC Data Form with the behaviors of their child that are a concern.  This data will help the therapist  to see patterns and reasons why behaviors occur.  After data is collected parents and therapist can work together to reduce behaviors.  Parents may be included in their child's sessions to help facilitate communication and understanding.

If you would like to check-in in regard to your child's therapy you are welcome to contact the therapist by phone.  However, due to time restraints if you are in need of longer than 15 minutes please schedule a phone appointment or an in-person session.
